Hinging Supplies
Metropolitan carries professional hinging materials for both works on paper and photographs. Each has been added for a specific reason. Some of the products are made for ease of use and others are made to do hinging in the time honored method used by museum professionals. See our framing advice videos for hinging with tapes and hinging with japanese papers - matted presentations and floated presentations.

1" x 130 ft. Gummed Paper Hinging Tape
The high tensile strength of this quality, water activated hinging tape will support all but the heaviest works of art. The paper is acid-free with a calcium carbonate buffer and a pH of 8.5. The neutral pH adhesive has excellent tack to hold firmly without slipping or ''creeping''.
Not recommended with photographs and Giclee inkjet prints because of their sensitivity to water.
